There was no page for DW and yet it is CLEARLY one of the most epic fandoms here. Not to mention it is my mission to convert you all to it.

So, here is a greatly abridged version of 900 years of phone-box travel - Ten

Classic!Who

There's a guy in a blue Police Public Call Box called the Doctor who lives in a junk yard in the UK with his granddaughter Susan. One day Susan's teachers Ian and Barbara follow her home from school and end up inside the Police Box. The Doctor promptly whisks them off in his temperamental TARDIS (yes, that's what the blue box is called really) and many adventures follow.

Stuff happens, lots of evil aliens such as Daleks and Cybermen turn up and cause more stuff to happen, and the Doctor ends up taking on and dropping off more "companions" as they whirl through time.

Oh, also? The Doctor can regenerate and change his face and personality instead of dying. Now THAT'S cool.

Oh, also number 2: Some obviously evil dude called the Master keeps showing up and refusing to die, generally trying to take over the universe. THIS IS IMPORTANT LATER, KTHNX.

New!Who

A shop girl called Rose meets our friend the Doctor who for the first time ever has a Northern accent (That's UK Northern, not US Northern ;]), and they go on many adventures involving time and chips.

Oh, apparently the Doctor is now the last of his species, having blown up both his planet Gallifrey and the Dalek's planet Skaro in a Great Time War. Ooops.

Things happen, the Daleks keep coming back, we meet the awesome and totally gay Captain Jack Harkness, the Doctor regenerates into his fantastically fantastic tenth form (Ok, I may be a little biased) but loses Rose. Which is sad for all involved.

Soon he picks up Martha, who is hopelessly smitten with the Doctor. It can only end in heartbreak. More stuff happens, the Master turns up again, there is much emo, angst, and subtexting of Gay Time Lord Love, ending in death and sadness for all.

Which is where DDD comes in. ;)
