The star villain of this game (though not the final boss) is Kuja. Kuja is Zidane's brother, a Genome from Terra. Almost emotionless, Kuja seeks a life beyond death, not wanting to feel like he merely a mortal being, destined to die like all others. He kills his creator, Garland, partially with Zidane's help, and seeks Necron in the Mist-world of Memoria. Necron, a being who rules the zero-space between life and death, tells Kuja he knows what Kuja desires and can give it to him. Zidane pursues his brother to Memoria...
