Who is House?

Dr. Gregory House (smrtr_than_you) is a bored board-certified Diagnostician with a double-speciality in Infectious Diseases and Nephrology. He's a smart sonofabitch with a large enough aversion to clinic duty that he got himself a Livejournal. That it annoys Cuddy, Wilson and anyone else who doesn't like macros and capslock is just a big, shiny bonus.

Six years ago, House experienced muscle death in his right leg, and now lives with constant, excruciating, pain. It's kind of sad, but since he btiches all the time, only his fangirls can find the smallest modicum of sympathy for him. Because he's an ass. A huge, huge ass.

Man, I'm sorry.

Where is House?

House is currently employed as the Head of the Department of Diagnostics at the Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hostpial associated with the one and only Princeton University. However, House is currently employed in the art of annoying Cuddy, Wilson, Ian, and whoemever else comes across his path to the tenuous end of their fragile, fragile wits. It's fun.

How about some DDD backstory?

Well, all that's a little vague around here. Obviously, this House works exclusively with the canon set up by the eponymous show, on which you can find information here The skeletal remains of House's DDD backstory include a brief stint on Hell Island Jurassic Park, where House met Ian Malcolm of chaos-theory fame. Why is House such an ass?

No, really.

Well, House is... just an ass. A lot of theories get tossed around in House!fandom about exactly why, but no one knows for sure. And, hey, who cares?

Don't underestimate him, though. House can also be sympathetic, impressed, concillatory, angry... there's a wide range of emotion underneath that exterior, and if you earn his respect (or just really piss him off), you'll see it.

Just, uh. Don't hold your breath.

Why hasn't House's journal friended me?

Right now, only RP journals with whom House has a significant connection are being friended, mostly because House is in a few other games and it's hard to keep them all straight. It's nothing personal at all. If your muse and House develop a good tagging relationship, rest assured you'll be added. Until then, House stalks the DDD comm all the time, so, no worries.
