In General:

Meet Mikaela Banes (know_sacrifice), a sexy, badass human from the live-action Transformers movie. She's seventeen years old, friends with certain giant alien robots, and dating Sam Witwicky. She's played by Phil.

Initially presented as a vapid pretty-girl, Mikaela does a lot of visible growing-up in the movie, setting aside the "evil jock concubine" in favor of the tough, practical grease monkey. The grease monkey is what comes out a lot in DDD, though she hasn't been able to entirely shake the girly-girl, nor would she want to.

When the movie starts, Mikaela's little more than generic jock eye-candy, clearly the really hot chick the hero's gonna get in the end. It quickly becomes clear that maybe there's more to her than meets the eye than she's willing to let on, particularly a love of cars that turns out to be something of a plot point.

Kind of by accident, Mikaela gets mixed up in Sam's Autobot Adventure, revealing a fairly awesome side when she uses a buzzsaw to separate Frenzy's head from his body. (This is not as effective as she and Sam probably thought it was.) When she and Sam got taken into custody by Sector Seven, it was revealed that her father was in prison for grand theft auto, and she had a record of her own for failing to turn him in. Somehow, Sam managed to find it in his heart to forgive her--this may have had something to do with her forcing Agent Simmons to strip down and handcuffing him to a pole for threatening her dad.

In the big battle at Mission City, Mikaela breaks into a tow truck, hot-wires it, and uses it to get Bumblebee off the street after he's had his legs blown off. She initially flees the battle, but realizes that 'Bee's firepower is needed, so she pulls herself together and proceeds to drive backwards through the streets so he can do his thing.

Mikaela and her mother do not have a particularly good relationship--her mom works two jobs so they can keep living in their little house while her husband is in jail, and is tired and irritable a lot. Still, Mikaela understands that her mom does it for her, so she tries not to fight with her much and does as much as she can to help out around their house.

She really, really loves her daddy.

She was a tomboy when she was little girl, climbing around in the garage and playing with cars and pretend tools just as much as horsies and dolls. After her dad went to jail, she put away a lot of the tomboy parts of herself and forced the girly-girl stuff out. It wasn't too hard, because it had always been there, but it still made her feel kinda weird sometimes. Though she's returned to the tomboyishness, what with taking metal shop in high school and not caring what people think about her interest in cars, she definitely will never lose the sense of style and appreciation for glamour that she developed when she was all girly-girl, all the time.

She's an only child, but she has a huge extended family. All kinds of little cousins, of which she is the oldest.

Mikaela got her LJ because a certain boyfriend and his Autobot buddy decided to go on a road trip to Florida and failed to tell her, making her a lot worried and a little pissed. She then found out that not only was there a renewed Decepticon presence on Earth, including a couple of mechs they thought dead, but that Sam had come out on the wrong end of an encounter with a band of human goons under Frenzy's control.

Yikes.

She joined DDD mostly because Sam was a member, but she's made a lot of friends since, so she sticks around. She particularly likes Mr. Wright, Mr. Edgeworth, and Shawn, though Kaye, Roiben, and Bella are rapidly becoming good friends too. Girlfriends! She needs girlfriends!

Plus, talking to some of the Transformers from other worlds is wicked cool. The not-evil ones, anyway.

Mikaela hasn't been involved in any Epic Plots of any kind, though she did go to Honiara/The North Pole. That was pretty cool. Mostly she's been hanging out with Sam and Bumblebee (including a fun little evening out where she and 'Bee went to the school and caused mild havoc), trying not to worry about being stepped on by 'Cons and hanging out DDD when she's not doing her homework or chores. She didn't find out about the Blackout thing 'til, like, a while after it happened; she's not really sure how she feels about that, but he's already changed back anyway, so it doesn't matter.

She's kind of scared of gods, which sucks, 'cause there's a whole lot of them on DDD. For some reason, though, she keeps talking to Hades.
