Okage Shadow King

Page history last edited by Anonymous 2 yrs ago

Quick Summary: Okage is a game where you play as an overshadowed boy Ari who's family sold his soul to cure their precious daughter from the terrible curse of Pig Latin. Oh, and you gain the bestshadow ever. The shadow will say he's better than Midna, but pay no mind.

BETTER SUMMARY; Spoilers past the first five paragraphs

Ari was an ordinary overshadowed boy who lived in the villiage of Tenel with a very popular sister and an odd family (Though that is common in his world) Also in his world, ghost encounters are very common, and they can curse you that could have multiple effects.

On the night The Circus was in town, his father held him back and rambled on for another two hours, and then let him leave. Unfortunetly for Ari, the circus was over.

On his way back home, his sister, Annie, was attacked by a ghost and cursed on her way back from her date. It was later learned that his dear sister was cursed to speak Pig Latin for the rest of her life. Her parents, fearing that she wouldn't grow up to be the princess she was destined to be, call apon the help of a mysterious bottle Ari's father had found at the bottom of a mountain sometime before.

The entire family (Father, mother, granparents and Ari) go down to the basement to do the summoning ritual for the spirit in the bottle. A ghost in a tux comes out, the apparent butler of the great Evil King in side the bottle, tells them they'll need to sell a family member's soul and become slave to the great evil king in a nutshell.

They all agree, except Ari who has common sense and denies selling his soul to cure Pig Latin. Of course, being the overshadowed boy he is, he doesn't convince anybody and they sell his soul against his will.

This is how he ends up with the Ego-listic Stan in his shadow. Stan used to be some great evil king and reincarnation of the great Evil King Gohma, who destroyed half the world 300 years before (Which was around the time Stan was sealed into the bottle). While he was trapped in the bottle, however, low-leveled ghosts and demons had stolen his power and became False Evil Kings. Stan, enraged by this, orders his slave (Ari) to defeat the false evil kings so that he may restore his own evil power. Irony, eh?

At this point, Julia, Ari’s childhood friend ‘dumps’ him because she feels he isn’t the wallflower that wouldn’t complain if she did whatever she wanted.

(Oh, and Stan cures Annie, but the side affect is that her shadow turned pink)

They eventually meet Rosalyn in Madril, a hero who became a laughing stock because Stan had possessed her shadow two years prior, thus turning it pink. She carries a pink Parasol to hide the fact and has vowed revenge on Stan by killing him. Seeing as he’s a shadow, she threatens to kill Ari, the person Stan needs to manifest himself in. But being a hero, she doesn’t and decides to travel with them until Stan regains his physical form. (Stan and Rosalyn bicker constantly)

They defeat the first fake evil king, and Stan gets some of his power back. They start off to Rashelo, where the next evil king is supposed to be. On the way out of Madril, they meet Kisling, a (slightly) peverted but famous professor who studies ghosts. Kisling tags along because of Rosalyn’s ‘beauty’ and her ability to attract ghosts.

In Rashelo, they find that Princess Marlene is there and has been kidnapped by the second false evil king. They rescue her and she decides to follow the party. At this point, Marlene claims she owns 70% of Ari and that he is her servant for the rest of her life, as a way to repent for falling on her. Stan disagrees, but this is (unfortunantly) a fairly normal thing for Ari.

After defeating the third false evil king, they find a secret passage to Pospos snowfield, something linking out of the world they knew, and find the Big Bull evil king. They defeat him and he joins their party.

The fifth false evil king is Linda, a rookie singer whom Ari had helped (and slightly crushed on) while she practiced in Madril, was the next false evil king. Linda and Marlene get into a spat over who Ari liked more (since Ari (and Stan) constantly helped Linda improve and Ari had shared a few ‘moments’ with Marlene). Marlene eventually gets mad and leaves.

Linda put all the citzens under her spell because she wanted fans, and then flees to a cave past PosPos Snowfield. They defeat her and she joins your party then Marlene returns. It turns out Linda didn’t like Ari, she liked Stan and thought that Ari was some ugly doll he carried around.

The party goes down to the Madril Sewer because all the defeated false evil kings felt a connection there. They find a magic square and Stan orders Ari to step on it, which he does.

The result is (unknowest to Ari) the ‘Classifications’ being reinforced, and since Ari has no element (and essentially no classification) he is banished from existence. This causes everybody he’s ever come in contact with to forget he existed and him to become transparent.

Stan isn’t in his shadow anymore, either. Apparently, since his classification was ‘Evil King’, he is being feared and is incredibly powerful; off terrorizing innocent people. And Rosalyn, being classified as ‘hero’ is being praised and out to stop him.

Ari is shocked at this news but is forced into Triste, a Locked Town (Locked as in Gigantic thick walls around it) for forgotten (overshadowed) and therefore unclassified people like him. He meets K.T, the gatekeeper, who agrees to let him in even if he were to become solid again.

Ari is given advice by Block, the Circus Ringmaster to go out and try to strike up conversations with everybody. Ari does this, and becomes solid (resulting in him being the only person able to see the overshadowed/unclassified people) again, effectively damaging his place in the classification system.

No one remembers what happened or the fact that Ari disappeared, and continue on their journey. The party searches for Marlene, where she is hanging in midair, being choked by an invisible force by her butler, Belouine. Belouine reveals himself to be creator of their world and he made classification as a safe way for his daughter, Marlene to play in. Unfortunantly, the real Marlene got lost in the world a long time ago and he couldn’t fin her, so he made a doll that looked like her, princess Marlene. But Ari messed up the classifications by existing again so he broke the Marlene doll and fled.

The party decides to break classification (roles that people were born with. Like ‘scared villiger’ or ‘ghost’), so they take the back gate out of Triste (which overshadowed people cannot use as a force blocks them) and meet the Epros who tells them they are part of a larger scheme and should come after him.

They travel the desert and defeat him, and he leaves.

The party travels to Highland Villiage, where they meet Epros again and he joins the party. They then defeat the vampire evil king, and go to the World Library where Belouine is hiding.

Belouine uses one last trick and gives Stan his physical form, complete with all his powers and enforces his and Rosalyn’s classification.

Stan, being an ‘Evil King’ and Rosalyn being a ‘Hero’ automaticly fight with equal power.

The rest of the party can only watch, but Ari, being the neutral ground between them, uses the voice box that he was given before and played it. The two returned to their senses and Belouine transforms into a monster as the party prepare to face him off.

(That’s where Ari is set, timeline-wise somewhere around where the Vampire Evil King is.)

Oh, Kai would like to say if you steal this summary SHE WILL SKEWER YOU ALIVE kthx
