There are two types of Real Life (almost always shortened to 'RL') in DDD.

IC RL

This is the kind one would see on the character journals. When two or more characters meet outside of the community or their internet, it happens in a journal entry marked 'RL'. Usually, this is followed with 'Locked to' and character name(s), as most RL entries have been discussed between muns on AIM, and are for a specific character/group of characters to interact.

We treat these characters as more than just on-the-computer personas while still acknowledging their different worlds; this is why we're different from most of the other mulifandom RPGs on the internet, and it is between world-hoppers and RL entries that we can allow characters from entirely seperate worlds to meet each other.

OOC RL

The kind that happens to the mun, rather than the character. Also the kind that keeps muns away from the computer, and so widely feared.
