The Legend of Zelda

Page history last edited by Vyse 2 yrs ago

. . .Are you serious? You don't know what the Legend of Zelda is? D:

Well, okay. This is a series of video games by Nintendo that started in the mid 80s. The first title, simply called The Legend of Zelda was the most epic game of its time. It was so epic that the idea of finishing it in one sitting just wasn't realistic. Know what that means? That's right. First game ever to use "save" files.

The titular legend repeats itself. There are actually multiple Zeldas and multiple Links all of whom share the same spirit via the mystical Triforce.

In DDD we tap into two episodes of the series:

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: This is the story of a boy named Link who was raised by fairies. He is eventually drawn up in a quest to save his land of Hyrule from a man called Ganondorf. Part of this quest involves him skipping seven years of his life and becoming the Hero of Time. Supposedly his spirit and legacy live on for generations after this. At least in one version of the timeline. This game causes a timesplit in the series. Oh yeah, and it is widely considered the best video game ever made. Our Link comes from Majora's Mask, a continuation of this game in which he has three days to save the land of Termina from the Moon which has mysteriously abandoned its orbit and is crashing into the planet. You get to travel around and relive the days. It's like Groundhog Day but sillier.

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess: The first Zelda to be rated "T" rather than "E", this is the darkest game in the series so far. This tells the story of a young rancher, Link, who is chosen by the Goddesses to save his land from the Twilight. He is aided on his journey by the impish Midna. And rather than turning into a younger version of himself in this one he turns into a wolf. This is considered by some to be the best Zelda ever made but not the best game ever made eventhough the best game ever made was a Zelda (see above). Critics are confusing like that.
