Using your IC Journal

Page history last edited by Miri 2 yrs ago

Here at DramaDramaDuck, your characters will have their own LJs to play around with. Basically, using the IC journal is the same as using your own journal, except the entries are in-character. You can post ANYTHING: entries about their daily lives, your characters quiz results, journal memes and most important of all, RL events. How RL works is somewhat discussed here.

It should be noted that while other characters can read your character's entries on their friends’ page, your character might not want certain people looking at their personal thoughts. This is where locking comes in.

Suppose your character wanted to lock their entry from a certain character; let's call them Character A. Simply make your entry, and put (Locked from Character A) in the subject line. However, what if you wanted your entry to only be viewed by Character A? Simply make it (Locked to Character A). Easy, eh?

Now, what if your character DIDN'T want Character A to see their thoughts, yet you the mun wanted to make it open to said character? Put "Hackable" somewhere in the (Locked from) subject line, and voila! Character A will be able to hack your character's lock and see the entry.

"But how do I make a private entry?" you might ask, "Do I put in (Locked from Everybody)?" That would be a pain to type out, so just put (Private) in the subject line and no one sans your character will be able to see it. As with locking, hacking can work for private entries as well.
